When I started working with Greg, my focus was just to “run and finish” a marathon and I was nervous about how much I would have to run, after previously running in college. Over the first 7 months of working with Greg, I quickly learned that quality over quantity is what matters when it came to running.
I run 3 days a week. I was able to run a 3:30:34 on my first marathon, allowing me to qualify for Chicago, 2024. Sure, I did the work, but Greg challenged me with workouts I didn’t think I could handle and he believed in me. His training methods have never been too hard on my body and they have allowed to be still CrossFit and lift weights. He never let me set any goals until the month before the race, even then I had no idea if my goals were possible. He reminded me my training showed otherwise and I was fit. He broke down the race down to each mile and how to work through the hard parts of the race.
Greg’s programming is genius because it has made me go to dark places, push myself when I didn’t think I could, believe in myself a little more, and it convinced me that I can run more marathons. Immediately after my first race, I signed up for two more because I felt like I had someone in my corner who pushed me to become a better runner.
